Ian Langton

Langy

Ian joined Casuals at the start of their second season after being recommended by captain Chris Hames. Langton had previously plied his trade with Bootle FC but saw in Hesketh Casuals B an opportunity to play attractive football coupled with the ambient vibe which was prevalent in the squad. Langton is the truest example of a Cassies player who can play just about anywhere and has played in every position in his 2 and a half years, other than in goal.

Langtons favourite position is clearly right back but he has demonstrated his ability to fill in any position along the back and midfield. The Liverpudlian has also played up front on a couple of occasions and has managed to score some vital goals in his Casuals career. The highlight so far would be the moment Ian was late for kick off against Oldham Hulmenians away. With only 10 men available to start the game Cassies soon went 1-0 down. Langton arrived with only 20 minutes of the first half left and stepped onto the pitch before scoring two before half time and putting Casuals ahead. His lowlight was when he cried off to buy a washing machine!!!

Langton is well known for his tireless performances which can be attributed to his ability to regularly take part in marathon runs. The combative defender/midfielder rarely shirks out of a challenge and always gives one hundred per cent to the Casuals cause.
