Daniel David Richards joined the Hesketh Casuals B revolution on the eve of the transfer window deadline in mid September 2004. Richards was playing for Speke based side South Parade whilst both clubs were thrashing out a deal, whilst the player was suspended for 6 months for a disagreement with an openent. Luckily his close friend Dan Bailey was on hand to cover for him during this difficult period. He made his debut as a second half substitute in the away victory at Radcliffe Town and went onto reach double figures in the first season, playing as a striker, forming a mean partnership with Barry Fellowes.
In the previous three seasons Dan has been used in a variety of positions covering all defensive slots and also up front, but he clearly revels in a good old centre midfield battle. Richards enthusiasm on the pitch is there for all to see and his passing accuracy proves to be a leathal weapon. Throughout the years Dan, a lover of all things football, has chipped in with some handy and spectacular goals.
Dan Richards is regarded as one of the most ever-present players in the squad and detests the thought of missing a game. Despite being available for pretty much every game, Richards knack of arriving just before the posts are put up seems to be a common occurrence. Commitment to the Hesketh Casuals cause is something that cannot be contested with Dan Richards and he continues to be a valuable member of the team.
