At time of writing Mellberg is on the EDFC injured list after suffering a severe case of Patella Tendonitis. An operation has seen Mell make a few bit part appearances this season but his movement is still restricted. This hasn't stopped him from taking over and becoming player manager for the team, as well as looking after club funds as our treasurer. Mellberg is missed at centre back for his size and presence, as well as his huge throw in.
