The club was founded in 1999 and play in the West Lothian Sunday Morning League.
The team has developed through the years and progressed to the semi final of the Scottish Amateur Sunday trophy in 2005 where they were narrowly defeated 3-2 by Buffs tavern from Kilwinning.
Shotts won it's first trophy in May 2006 when they defeated Fauldhouse Commercial in the final of the Everwarm Cup, this was followed by a triumph in the League Cup in 2007 when they defeated Ladywell Star.The Thstle won the League and Everwarm Cup Double in 2007/2008 and capped off a fantastic season by winning 'Carling Play on the Park 2008' 9:0 beating AFC Ravenscraig at Celtc Park. Under the stewardship of former player Jamie Cassidy the club hope to continue it's development long into the future.
