Bobby's Bar take on the Grants tonight in the second leg of their consolation cup semi final tie. Bobby's go into the game on a run of good form and with a 3-0 lead from the away game.
1st June, 2008

It was third time lucky for Bobby's who had reached the final twice previously but had never won. The game started out at a high tempo although there were only a few chances at either end. Mid way through the first half the ball was played long over the top of the Windy Ha defence for Stanton to run through and knock the ball over the keeper to break the deadlock. The game became scrappy and slow although Windy Ha pressed for an equaliser before half time.
In the second half the game started as it had left off with neither team producing much in the way of football. Bobby's struggled to get any rythm together and only had two chances in the whole half. McKenzie came on for MacFarlane and Ramsy was replaced by Shields to try and liven things up. On a very hot day though Bobby's Bar began to tire and the Windy Ha put them under pressure when they brought on fresh legs and went 3 up front looking for a goal. It seemed like that goal would eventually come but the Bobby's defence stayed strong and celebrated as the final whistle went.
Bobby's Bar wore their new Carling sponsored strips for the final.
