Enderby Social Club have announced an end of season tour to Amsterdam.
14th September, 2008
Enderby Social got there second win in consecutive matches today after a hard fought win leaving it late on.The Socialites were without 3 key players but still came out on top as the first half saw few chances with new signing Knowlesey coming close with an acute effort but only to be directed into the keepers arms, there was a strong claim for a penalty for Duke Of Rutland as a mix up in defense saw keeper Lee Ross come out with a Jackie Chan type kung fu kick straight into the back of the head of the opposing striker only for the ref to wave play on!As chances were few and far between the first half ended 0-0.
In the interval the Socialites were forced to make a change as Cookie was replaced for Will leaving Will up front with Knowlesy dropping to right mid field. The 2nd half started much the same as the first ended with the ball being played around the middle of the park with nothing to give. After the 70 minute mark Lee Taylor made a dazzleing run into the box only to be brought down with what looked a stone wall penalty but the ref seemed to bottle it and waved play on,with the game looking like a 0-0 draw the Socialites put a few passes together and the ball being passes across Robbo's stride and for him to unleash a stunning 25 yard curler straight into the top corner with the French keeper no-where to be seen to make it 0-1 to the Socialites. As time was getting close to 90 mins the socialites forced a corner with Lee Taylor to take it but not only to take it but to curl one into the back of the net straight from the corner flag! But with a little help from Dave Taylor and Adam Taylor as they were holding the keeper making him unable to respond and the ref not seeing a thing to make it 0-2 to the socialites at the full time whistle, the Socialites now stand in 3rd in the league with a game in hand to take them joint top this is the best start to a league campain in over...well the best they have ever had!!
