Socialites emphatic start

31st August, 2008

Enderby Social got off to a dream start to the new season 08/09 with an emphatic 5-0 crushing win over Swan & Hove with 4 goals coming in the later stages of the first half. The new signing of Tom Martin proved the right one as goal keeper Lee Ross kicking out of his hands and Tom Martin taking the gamble with a sweet right foot volley coming off the inside of the post to make it 1-0 to the Socialites, after this they never looked threatened with Lee taylor going close with long range efforts and Brett Pavlovic missing from just 2 yards(the donkey!).The 2nd half began with the socialites in comand with numerous chances which saw Richard Edwards hitting the bar with a header and Adam Taylor and Tom martin also striking the woodwork respectivly. After the 70 minute mark Adam Taylor took the ball turned and shot into the bottom corner from around 25 yards to make it 2-0.Soon after this saw a flurry of goals with 3 goals coming inside 4 minutes with a goal from new signing Will running from the centre back role to blast home, but the move of the match came from a brilliant display of passing starting from Lee Ross out to Dave Taylor who controlled to 2nd half sub Robbo then chested down to Adam Taylor who played back to Robbo and was then flicked back to Adam Taylor who ran in at the keeper to make it 4-0.The game was nicely rounded off with a great cross from right back Matt Holland and was attacked by Lee Taylor to head into the net to make it a 5-0 destruction of Swan and Hove.
