Cassies threw away the chance to close in on leaders Rossendale after a home defeat to Lymm. The home side wasted numerous opportunities to score and Lymm managed to take advantage of their only clear cut opportunity.
Early Sykes went close on a couple of occasions and Chris Hames' header from a corner struck the crossbar. Fellowes and Aspin each had chances but Lymm broke the deadlock when their striker nipped in between MacGregor and keeper Hames to poke the ball into the corner.
Lymm threw everybody in the way of Casuals' shots and their keeper made a number of great saves. Cassies almost drew level when keeper Paul Hames's right foot voley from a corner was goalbound until a last ditch block prevented it going in.
Casuals left the pitch disapointed to to take any points but can look back on the number of chances they created that they will have to take in their next game in a fortnight at home to Rossendale.
Man on the match by a country mile was centre back Matt Valentine.
