Today's game was a little bit different to any normal game Rusty had a little surprise for everyone! We arrived at Seenleys park as per usual about half 9ish we arrived in the changing rooms and got ready for the game but for some reason we were wearing the new carling kits looking over at the pitch there was a lot of movement so everyone had the suspicion carling were coming to watch, this was true but the was a lot more to it than that! Walking over to the pitch there were photographers and cameras bill boards around the pitch! Everyone excited we began to warm up then arrived the army as promised we would have over 200 supporters cheering us an they loved it with mixed songs varying from LONGBRIDGE TILL I DIE to MIGHT MIGHTY LONGBRIDGE also with mixed insults towards the opposition. As the game was about to start an carling logo was overlaid onto the semi circle of the pitch we were ready to kick off but the teams we lead of the field along to walk back on side by side an line up referee in the middle across the pitch , waiting there wondering what was going to happen on stepped an nice looking lady to sing us the national anthem after that fireworks were going off behind the players what a mad morning in a good way this was turning out to be the main focus though still the three points to take us back top of the league.

The game began with the bridge kicking up hill as usual straight away there was a goal mouth scramble on the ball fell to Tom Carr to do again exactly what he did the week before just hit the back of the net an that it exactly what he did 1-0 to the bridge within a couple of minutes as the net rippled the fans went wild an music began to play WOOOOOOO HUUUUUUUU and an announcement goal scorer number 10 Tom Carr this was to follow every goal. Tom was the first to be in the lime light. As the half went on the game got a bit scrappy Longbridge giving away possession far to easily all the time a lot of silly free kick also as the half was coming to a close mike carved the centre forward up in the penalty area barging him to the floor Hellenic were awarded a penalty the forward who was fouled got up to take the kick but it was missed the ball coming back of the post Longbridge were let of the hook and that�¢ï¿½ï¿½s how the half ended.

Calming words at half time from the manager seemed to settle the team down a bit they went out in the second half and just enjoyed the game Joynesy and Alex dominate in the middle pulling all the strings and it wasn't long before the bridge doubled there lead a corner floated into the box again a bit of scramble but it was Tom Carr again to tap the ball into the net for a couple of yards. The game wasn't over just yet within minutes Hellenic pulled a goal back scrappy again with the ball bouncing around the our penalty area leaving it for the big sticker to finally drill in. 2-1 after missing chances in the first half it was time for Kane to make his mark on the game with only 20 minutes left Lee brought the ball forward laying it off to Dave he carried on and over lapped him Dave giving the ball back to Lee he then wiped in the cross for Kane to tap in at the back post after that Kane scored a succession of goals the next he took the ball past 3 or 4 players bobbing an weaving past them he reached the penalty spot an then fired the ball into the bottom corner a couple of minutes went by Hellenics heads had dropped they knew they were beaten Joynesy picked the ball up in the middle of the park charging through the defence he over ran the ball slightly giving the keeper a half chance to get there a 50/50 challenge seen them both collide leaving both injured but the ball still in play sitting on the 6 yard box staring at an open goal an who else but Kane was there to tap it in a complete his hat trick the injured Joynes was then replaced by Rusty and Tom Carr replaced by Ashley Pollock. 5-1 to Longbridge but there was more Evans picked the ball up on the left hand side an slide a ball into Ashley the littlest of flicks seen the ball carry on the Dave on the edge of the area missing the ball it carried on through to Kane who slotted the ball through the keepers legs his forth for the day an 30th for the season what a tally with 5 minutes left of the game Joe received the ball on the edge of the ball he floated in a cross an there was Rusty to waiting on the 6 yard box the ball glanced off his head an onto the defenders and the ball ended up in the back of the net some were unsure weather it was an own goal but he is claiming it final score 7-1.

Great performance in the second half a well deserved victory for the bridge many thanks to carling for a great set up.
