in wet and heavy conditions the ref said the match had to be played, following a minutes silence for the late walter edmondson, celtic kicked off playing down the slope. some good early football from celtic created early chances which were not converted, embsay had some good efforts to take the lead, created by trawdens poor defending but they could not find a way past crossy. celtic continued to play the ball around and from a corner took the lead when the unmarked digs headed past the keeper. embsay had chances to equalise but couldn't find the net and it was celtic who got another when rossy fired in a shot which squirmed under the keeper, 2-0. celtic switched off and allowed embsay to get a goal back before half time, 2-1. playing up the slope trawden began to take control of the game and added a third when rossy drilled the ball low passed the keeper into the bottom left hand corner, 3-1. with the older embsay players tiring, celtic continued to dominate and added a fourth when the tireless dom got a well deserved goal, 4-1, the final here we come. m.o.m. was scott. the final is on tues 6th may at hellifield k.o. 6-30 against pendle forest f.c.
