22nd March, 2008

Top verses second, unbeaten trawden travelled to earby in confident mood, on a nice afternoon with a slight breeze, stanny shuffled the pack and played cal with adam at central defence with dicko and rossy centre mid. a capacity crowd watched as earby began dominating the early proceedings and if it wasn't for fine saves by crossy earby could have taken the lead but with rossy's throws troubling the opposition defence celtic took the lead when dicko swept home a loose ball to give trawden the edge, 1-0. this was short lived though when adam was adjudged to have fouled in the area, even earby thought they were lucky to have won a penalty but they made no mistake from the spot 1-1. earby were now gaining momentum but could not get past crossy who made great saves first with an outstretched foot then tipping another over the bar (not the first thing he's tipped over the bar!!) half time 1-1. earby were running out of ideas but trawden were blowing hot and cold, stanny changed the side and put watty on moving adam to midfield to try and stir things up which worked when ben linked with adam who then put crabby clear, with a deft touch he rounded the keeper and rolled the ball home, 2-1 (yes it was crabby).despite a late penalty appeal trawden held on and took the 3 points, although it wasn't an outstanding performance, heads didn't drop, they got stuck in and apart from some unecessary bookings a great performance, keep it up. m.o.m was crossy (well deserved)
