this top of the table clash was always going to be a closely contested game and so it proved. with trawden playing with the wind they put chatburn under pressure straight away with some direct football and from a resulting corner from rossy, digs was there to glance the ball home, 1-0. trawden kept up the pressure and should have tested the opposition keeper more but they kept on trying and when ben hooked the ball over from the line digs was there again to nod in but after first allowing the goal the ref consulted the liner who after prompting from teamates said the initial ball was out of play, boo!! chatburn never really tested crossy who sustained a nick on the leg whilst retrieving a backpass, call an ambulance! good kicking from crossy always had the chatburn defence on their heels and when crabby crossed ben got under the ball and it sailed over the bar and down to wycoller. half time 1-0 to trawden, chatburn thought the game was theirs but celtic kept their composure and kept on pressing into the wind and creating chances, eddy came on for digs to try and create something but trawdens defence was breached by a dubious offside goal(stanny), 1-1. new signing adam came on for dicko, joe on for crabby but we couldn't break down the chatburn defence, final score 1 all, trawden defended well with scott having a good game in the back four along with tank, nuts and watty. a fair result for both teams lets hope we can keep it up, m.o.m was nuts.
