Could do better!

in coldish conditions, celtic played into the wind against an lms side whom we had beaten in the league 2-0, there was few chances for celtic in the opening 45, rossy & phil had acres of room on the wings but trawden failed to use the space as well as they could have. a few speculative shots was all they could muster and a diving header by dom went wide of the mark after a good cross by dicko. with celtic playing with the wind in the 2nd half you would have expected them to pepper the lms keeper but it never happened, crosses were overhit, shots sailed over the bar & the one real chance to score was when rossy was brought down for a penalty, cal calmly strolled up to take it and his shot to the bottom right was saved by the keeper. crabby was defrosted by stanny & replaced digs, joe was on for phil but extra time came and after the game looked to be going to pens( much to ben's pleasure, he might get to make a save!) the ball fell to dom who hit a first time unstoppable shot into the top corner(not surprising playing in maggots boots). celtics defence held firm although a little shakily, through to the next round & there is no reason why celtic can't, with better performances, go on & win this cup. m.o.m the busiest bloke all afternoon, dave whitfield, collecting balls from wycoller!
