11th April, 2008Peach of Performance Despite Plum Of A Captain

With sicknotes monumental cock up in not bringing the kit the now must take the title of plum of the season much to Dickie and Lees disappointment. 11th March, 2008Morris Debate On Return To Former Career

Ex Next boy has become disillusioned with the way many referees fail to see the game from the Morris point of view. What seems to be the innocuous challenge in Daves book is a damn right foul and deserves to be punished by handing the ball straight to Dave for a free shot on goal.  More »

18th February, 2008Under Strength Middleton Frighten League Leaders

Despite missing five regulars Middleton gave JD a game that they were relieved to come away with a win. On a morning when most games were called off Middleton showed their character be waiting until 11.15 to kick off with a depleted squad against a team showing the promise to win Division One.  More »

12th February, 2008Perfect Performance Signifies Return To Normal

With a little soul searching pre-match Middleton stepped up to be counted. The balance and normality was restored with the return of Middletons Side Line Posse (armed with whit as sharp as the football) and glamour of our own footie foxy female fillies (somehow one or two players seem to play a little better cant think why).  More »

12th February, 2008Mannys Managerial Misery

27th January, 2008Grandson Plays a Fitting Tribute to Memory of Jack

16th December, 2007Gardeners Genius Guides Middleton to Premier Victory

Last weeks postponement made Middleton as hungry to play this week as Lee is to get an idea. Sicknote and Dave Morris returned to the starting line up to face premier opposition. Middleton began the game the better side adapting to the difficult pitch conditions quicker with football any gooner would be proud to watch. Link up play between Chancy, Rimmer, Mike, Ian, Dickie and Gardener had Oak Rangers not knowing which way to turn.  More »

2nd December, 2007Best Wishes to Alex,

We would all like to send our best wishes to Alex for his up and coming operation. Alex is a key member of Middleton F.C. and I am sure he would like to see the back of this stressful year and start the New Year with a clean bill of health. We all miss Alex not being on the pitch and around the club at the moment and look forward to him being discharged from hospital. Good luck Al, come back soon

2nd December, 2007Managers mistakes aid defeat

25th November, 2007Six of the Best Fell Boldmere Oaks

A dazzling 6-0 winning display leaves few questions to be asked from a side growing in confidence and commitment, except does Richie Horwell hit the floor quicker than a whores draws when taken from behind? With more spins than a roulette wheel, Fitz has been out classed in the art of executing the pike and double tuck to the floor (A crowd pleaser in anyones book, the skill is to gain the free kick also).  More »

18th November, 2007Return of A Legend

At fourty with fading eyes and failing lungs the steel returned to the side. Hastings managed to turn the game from easy going into an edge with tenacious tackles and the ability to kick a gnats eye out from ten yards. Within 2 minutes of his return the chants of book him and send him off echoed around the pitch. I guess they dont make em like they used to. Set up one goal and could of scored himself but happy to let others take the glory

18th November, 2007Fourteen Produce A Dirty Dozen In The Rain

A performance of shear quality and committed concentration produced a glut of goals despite Dickie being unable to end his drought in new boots. After a run of 5 defeats and no luck something had to give as this side has too much quality to be in the position it is in. Finally Rimmer the 60 minute man plays for the full 90 and produces a 5 star, 5 goal performance (Alex Jealous have another week off if you dare)  More »

4th November, 2007New Bond Of Resilience From a Team With Spirit

The management have been impressed the way the team has responded by bonding together and fighting for each other. Over the last couple of games the spirit has returned with payers who want to play for this proud club. To all those so called players who have cut and run without even having the manners, decency or bottle to even let the management know, we would like to say:- on behalf of the whole team we thank you for letting us realise we could not rely on you when the going gets tough, it has galvanised the rest of us who will never say die. We would also like to point out you need a transfer (which we will provide)all you need do is get in touch, but if we find out you have played or intend to play for another team we will take it further. We always have and will play by the rules we owe it to the players that remain.

4th November, 2007Further Misery After Promising Start

Middleton’s clash with fellow strugglers directly below them started with the usual optimism and determination. The side had to be re-jigged yet again as Appleby lived up to his nickname as sicknote. Lee Higgins was switched to sweeper and after explaining where that was Middleton set off well creating chances early on with the midfield of Rimmer, Richie, Ben, Mike and Fitz taking control. A fantastic move of precision football produced the first goal of the game for Alex. Although Great Bar had quick forwards the defence of Jimmy and Old man Manny coped well with lee playing as if he'd played there all his life.  More »

28th October, 2007Horwells Left Foot Returns From Limbo

The long road back from injury finaly seems over for Richie Horwell. Richie has been sidelined since his inury in last seasons George Cup Final back in February 07. He completed a very sturdy 15 mins and hopes to relinquish his water boy position.

28th October, 2007Schoolboy errors cost 3 more points

An away game against the leagues recent leaders offered the opportunity to correct a somewhat shaky start to the season. Middleton started as though they meant business causing unrest in the oppositions defence. Paul Baxters long balls up field were creating chance after chance for Dickie Bytheway and Alex Jealous with Lee Higgins even trying to get in on the act with what some people may have called a shot (not the manager). Middleton’s pressure reaped dividends with a quality finish by Alex after a deft through ball from Dickie. Chris Enifer proved his pre-match routine of 2 fags and a bottle of lucozade successful when his goal bound shot took a sight deflection to make it 2-0. All was well until a minute before half time when Hafway got themselves back into it with a goal after slick passing following Middleton’s sloppy play. Despite Middleton again having all the best chances in the second half notably Alex Jealous producing more than one good save by the keeper and Fitz Wils

21st October, 2007George Cup run ends by mistake

Middleton failed to make an impact into the cup competition in which we reached the final of last season. After falling behind midway into the first half Middleton’s confidence drained away while Sutton Three Tunns grew in stature. Although battling hard the pace of the opposition’s forwards was causing panic in the mature portion o our defence. The second half was considerably much better forcing an own goal equaliser. As Middleton pressing for victory a series of unfortunate mistakes led to further goals ending our cup run for this season.

Luck Deserts Middleton Yet Again

4th March, 2008

Players sick 3, players returning from severe illness 2, players pissed 1, players stoned 1, players returning from absence 2, players of limited brain power 1, and a cockney goalkeeper and still they played the better football making the manager proud of their attitude.

Change of team sponsor to Pampers (Pi** up front & Sh*t at the back)

This team needs some luck from somewhere, they can not continue to play determined football and keep coming away from games with only respect from the manager and no points.
Despite one of the worst runs the club has had the banter remains high with even Wee Man contributing with his first one-liner. This bunch of lads deserves a break with the effort shown in recent weeks. I as manager still believe in the quality within this squad and it will come good again.

Despite a team of walking wounded we were again the better side dominating the first half and should have led by at least two goals if only Rimmer could have finished, if I was locked in a room with him at that moment alongside a Lion and a bear and only had two bullets I would have shot Rimmer twice.
Full credit goes to the team as a whole with a special mention to Hoskins who would have lasted longer if we could have got a pair of bellows to fit up his backside.
The second half saw us concede another fortunate goal by Tunns and even though Wee Man struck the post with a big effort from a little man we never troubled the keeper enough.
The best thing to take away from Sundays game was the return of Nicky who has my utmost respect. The courage shown by this incredibly positive individual despite knock back after knock back is an inspiration to us all and puts into context just how unimportant results are and the enjoyment is paramount. Nick makes me proud to say he is a team mate, and friend and we will not go down if we show one tenth of his commitment to our club.

Man of the Match Nicky Jealous
there were 14 big hearted performances Sunday but Nick just edges his brother who has also fought his own personal battles over the last few months and why I love this club
