Ring rust evident for below par Greyhounds

6th January, 2008

Inclement weather and the christmas fixture list have saw Greyhound play only 2 fixtures in the last 6 weeks.

Ring rust has been evident in Greyhounds last 2 below par performances. Firstly a depleted Greyhound team shared the points in a 1-1 draw with a poor FJ Dynamo side. Tom Twort scored Greyhounds only goal of the game.
This week Greyhound travelled to bottom of the table Coleshill and came away with a very fortunate 5-4 victory!! Once again Greyhound were well below the standards they had previously set (a worrying trend just recently) The returning prolific Sean Dunne bagged a brace, to give him 12 goals in his 12 appearances. M.O.M Joe Mackey also bagged a brace, his last goal proving to be a late winner and coming from an excellent feer kick. Mick Ashford, back after a fair few weeks out, also scored with an excellent finish.
A vast improvement is required for the second half of the season!
