Aston Villa Cup Semi-Final

26th November, 2007

Greyhounds 'mauled' by Jaguars!

Castle Vale jaguars were in town for the Aston Villa cup semi-final and also they were in devastating form as they crushed Greyhound 8-1. Rich Leighton was in inspired form in the Greyhound goal and kept the score line to 8! Jags were a very good fast moving footballing side, although it has to be said that Greyhound were way off the pace and showed only tiny a glimpse of they true form. Some players were intimidated and some players just failed to achieve the standards that they had previously set. Young midfield maestro cavan Baxter was again the pick of the outfield players and he scored the Greyhound consolation goal with a 30 yard left foot thunder bolt. Rich Leighton was outstanding for Greyhound and scooped the man of the match award. One consolation is that we dont have to play them every week. The rest of the teams in the division are more than beatable, so that must now be the focus for Greyhound. Greyhound need to dust themselves down and prepare for a tough league encounter next week against Falcoln Lodge and build upon what has been a decent season so far.
