Flintham FC recorded their 6th win in as many games to go to the top of the Newark Alliance Div 3 by defeating bottom club Sawmill 2-0 at Lincoln Road this afternoon. The Mighty Whites rode their luck at times but secured the 3 points thanks to a 2nd half brace from top scorer Ronnie Kennedy. More »
Another brace for Ronnie against Sawmill on Sunday see's him sitting on 13 goals in just 9 goals - a very impressive return indeed..........although it might be more impressive if he had the fitness to last a full 90 minutes!!! lol More »

27th December, 2007

Lads, just a note to say thankyou for this year. After my illness and operation, I thought my Sunday football was over, but then in February I was asked to reconsider signing for another club and to manage Flintham. It was a difficult time for the club, with me not knowing what I was doing, players not knowing what was going off and all sorts of other stuff. So much so that after my operation and the events of trophy night, I decided that it wasnt worth it. I was talked into staying by various people (particularly Jay Newman, Gilbey, Beefy and Jay P) and have really enjoyed the bulk of what has happened since. There have been low times, but generally things seem a lot better now, thanks to you lads. At the beginning of the season we had no money, no sponsor, bills appearing out of nowhere and it seemed that there was a problem at every corner. Now things are completely different with a completely different atmosphere, bank balance and some new signings have brought a buzz back to the place. It really has been a complete turn of events, and thanks to everyone for making the club a success again. Former players such as Ricky Gamwell, Shawn Smith, Joe Baines, Jamie Newman and Ally Hunt all played a huge part in reviving the old club to make sure we were still here this year, and I particularly want to mention Beefy, who was a rock throughout and worked his arse off, and it IS appreciated. I hope that we can continue make the progress of 2007 in 2008. With the management team of myself and Gilbey in place and GOING NOWHERE, and a new, committed secretary in Ronnie, and a strong captain in Jay P, I really believe the club is going from strength to strength and I genuinely look forward to this season and next. Happy New Year lads, you deserve it. By the way, WE BEAT LINCOLN CITY IN PRE-SEASON!!!!!!
