There was no referee. We were short of players. Maybe it wasn't a penalty.
All valid points more or less, but at the end if the day they are all just excuses. Digica should have won that game, and to a man we all know it. You don't throw away 3-0 and cruising, and you don't concede two goals in the last two minutes, not if you want to win a cup, not if you want promotion and not if you want to win the league.
We've had a great year so far, sure we've had some luck but we've deserved it. We've deserved it because we've earned it. By playing hard, by training hard, by turning up to stand on the sidelines in the freezing cold, as manager, as substitute, as supporter and as Digi-dog.
Last year we started well and it fell apart after the semi-final, this year we've started better and we have a chance to achieve something, but a chance is all it is, so far we've achieved nothing. If we start to take games for granted, even when 3-0 up, we'll get nothing out of this season and we'll have exactly what we deserve.
The game is not worth reliving in detail, but there were a few positives. Jacko was a constant threat when he had service and scored a classy hat-trick. Booth popped up with a great finish in the only move of real note in the second half. Bowler made a couple of top draw saves, and Gordon showed real endeavour anchoring the midfield, he distributed the ball well and had almost no wild shots.
Right, let's put that behind us. Let's get a good turnout at training on Thursday, let's get a full squad out for Sunday's game, and let's go into the semi-final on the back of a good win. After all it's Demolition, so a nice easy match to get us back on track!
