Digica prowled past permanently wounded Lion Revived this weekend and booked their place in the second round of the cup. An overly confident and much changed Digica took to the field under Gaffa French’s much critiqued rotational policy looking to cement their place in the second round. With no place for star wingman Dave Booth and average centre back Rob Burden, along with young lovers Averley and Jackson, Digica lined up with French back in his usual haunt. A late injury to the mouth from the south Savage meant slime ball Burden snivelled his way on to the bench (which means that he wasn’t rotated and should thus miss another game). The game started slow with Digica passing the ball around well, much to the Gaffa’s disapprovement. However Digica seemed to be giving the opposition to much respect, and the opposition seemed to have been eating one to many pies. However, it was Bruce Wayne look-alike Aldread who cam up trumps 15 minutes into the first half nodding home a corner to give Digica the lead. Tivey soon doubled Digicas lead with a piece of finesse and Digica came off at half time 2-0 up and looking good for the win. Things didn’t change in the second half and Digica had soon stamped their authority on the game once more with another close ranger from Aldread to put the Digimen 3-0 up. Nick Wadlow, not wanting to be left out, decided to parade some footballing skills with a masterful turn on the half way line. Unfortunately for our young bare footed warrior Wadlow heroically somersaulted over the ball landing like an under-aged Olympics girls gymnast last outing before hunting down the nearest Lion and providing a crippling challenge worthy of applause. Digica popped two more in (Godba, Aldread pen) and came off 5-0 victors and kings of the jungle.
