FROM HUMBLE BEGINNINGS
The Leeds Sunday Football League
Formed from an original idea brought about by the desire to encourage organised football for local sportsmen, the LEEDS SUNDAY FOOTBALL LEAGUE exists to provide organised, competitive football for the member clubs and is directed and focussed in the pursuit of that aim through the efforts of the League Council.
From a humble beginning it was a pioneer of Sunday Football, it flourished becoming Leeds premier Sunday football league of the 1970s and 80s. In recent years, in line with trends in participation sport nationally, it has shrunk in size somewhat to what is, looking back, a comparatively moderate size. The former glory it enjoyed may be reduced but the enthusiasm and determination of those connected with the League to see it prosper remain undiminished.
Today the elected League Council seeks constantly to find and develop ways and means of attracting new members and has implemented a considered programme of ideas to this end. The council will continue to strive to provide excellent levels of service to member clubs, employing the very latest methods of administration where relevant and beneficial, and providing help and advice when asked for.
The team of forward thinking people making up the Council will lead the League forward into the future with the furtherance of the best interests of the member clubs always as their priority objective.
WE MAY HAVE DECREASED IN QUANTITY BUT WE HAVE INCREASED IN QUALITY.
If your club is interested in joining the League or you would like to join the Council as a working member, please contact us via the Address at the top of the page.
