Cwmavon Welfare

Cwmavon Welfare were formed in 2003/2004 from the old Cwmavon Phoenix 2nd Team.

In our first season we started in the Port Talbot 1st Division and finished mid table. In the second season we Won the 1st Division title and promotion to the Premier Division without losing a single game, winning 24 and drawing the last game of the season.

This season has been much more difficult where wins have been harder to come by but we are holding our own and starting to find our feet, this is shown with the 2-1 victory over our closest rivals and top 3 team Cwmavon Phoenix on December 22nd (Merry Christmas Phoenix).

Run by a combination of Richard Evans (Secretary), Leigh Murphy (Chairman) and Neil Richards (Treasurer) we're a club very much in it's infancy but by the same token very much on the way upwards.

UPDATE
We've just recieved a new title to our ever growing list, we're now Week 4 of January 2008's TEAM OF THE WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
