Congelton Unicorn extend the winnging run with a comfortable win against Racing Club Unicorn. Unicorn ran out winners with a easy 5-1 home win against racing club. For the first 30 minutes of the game the ball was mostly in the racing half but congleton were unable to break the deadlock. After 30 minutes Tom Blease won a penalty after some nice play from the home side and Mark Ogden slotted home in the bottom left hand corner of the goal. The second was to follow shortly after when a foul was committed on the left, near the penatly area and Grant 'Gap Kids' Robinson swung in the ball which some how managed to find the back of the net to the suprise of all 22 players. The ball took a wicked deflection, put with his continuing strop the ref decided to give the goal to him, giving him 3 goals for the season. One of them being a header, an still to this day has amazed everyone situated with The Unicorn. The third follow a couple of minutes after, but i cant tell u anythin about it because i dont remember it. Sos
The second half started the same as the first half with very little chances taken. Suprisingly racing club scored after a quick freekick caught out the unicorn team. The forth goal followed five minutes after racing club when Tom Blease was put through by Shaun Cardall, and he lobbed the keeper with a delightful chip from 18 yards. Mark Ogden completed his second hatrick within 3 games when he slotted the ball past the keeper to make it 5-1.
Jack Higginbotham showed his class creating some chances and showing his rapid pace.
Unicorn are at home again on sunday against AFC Vailant, who are the only other team to take points off us this season. Unicorn will be looking to reap revenge on them with a heavy win on sunday.
