Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas has criticised record label RCA for their promotion of his debut solo album.
‘Phrazes for the Young’ was released last year and was a joint venture between RCA and Casablancas’ own record label.
“Working on music is the funnest thing for me,” Casablancas told New York Magazine.
“I could do it all day, all night. But there’s all this other crap that I just constantly have to do.”
“[RCA] are not the label I signed with. The people change all the time. They’re nice, they’re cool, but honestly they don’t do s*** … I still like the plan, but it was executed terribly.”
Richard Ashcroft has given a working title to his new album.
‘Redemption’ will be Ashcroft’s first with new band United Nations of Sound and is expected to be released in late March.
Ashcroft has been working with producer NO ID, who produced Jay-Z singles ‘Run This Town’ and ‘DOA (Death Of Auto-Tune)’
