Jay-Z has been unveiled as one of the headliners at this year’s Wireless festival.

Pink will also be starring at the Hyde Park event, which runs from Friday 2nd July to Sunday 4th July.

She will play the opening night, while Jay-Z will close the festival on the Sunday.

Tickets will go on sale this Friday, 19th February.

Jay-Z last headlined Wireless in 2008.

Meanwhile, Franz Ferdinand frontman Alex Kapranos has said the band have started work on their new ablum.

The release will be their fourth, following their eponymous debut, 2005’s ‘You Could Have It So Much Better’ and last year’s ‘Tonight: Franz Ferdinand’.

Kapranos told BBC6music: “I’ve been round at [guitarist] Nick [McCarthy's] and we’ve been writing some things, and trying to do things in a different way again. You’ll hear it before too long.”

Kapranos vowed not to disclose too much about album number four though, having learned his lesson on ‘Tonight’.

“Before the last record, I talked far too much about it as we had the ideas and I made a vow that I wasn’t going to say anything about what we are actually doing until we’ve done it, and then wait about another three weeks.”
