Having started in 1996, V Festival continues to go from strength to strength, growing into one of the world’s biggest musical festivals with some of the most popular artists around. It is held across two completely separate locations (look beneath for V-Festival Staffordshire) and features one set of acts that perform at Chelmsford on the Saturday before swapping for Staffordshire on the Sunday.
Initially a rock festival, V Festival has grown into a top festival featuring a number of acts from different genres in recent years. Last year, a whole host of top drawer acts played; from Eminem to Olly Murs, JLS to Bruno Mars and Rihanna to Pendulum. This year’s line-up promises more of the same with The Stone Roses, NME award winner Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, The Killers and Tinie Tempah all headlining.
What’s more, there’ll also be an overnight area where the night owls can socialise well after the final note has been sung. There is provision of entertainment such as films, fun fair, and markets in these areas for anyone wanting to carry on the fun.
V Festival Chelmsford 2012 takes place, as usual in the delightful surrounds of Hylands Park, approximiately 2 miles outside of Chelmsford on the A414.
