What is it?

London's legendary music festival, The Lovebox Weekender, returns for its seventh year and is back, bigger and better than ever! Following last year's sold out extravaganza, 2008 sees headline performances from Oklahoma City's finest The Flaming Lips with their only London show of the year, the electro-cum-folk goddess Goldfrapp in one of only two UK festival appearances in 2008, and the return of hosts Groove Armada with a new and improved live show. Throw in The Human League for a retro-electro mastershow and London's very own Jack Penate for one of the biggest line-ups ever!

Europe's leading new music festival The Great Escape, host the second stage featuring some of the year's hottest indie acts such as Lightspeed Champion and The Young Knives. The Pentagon War room themed Strangelove will host some of the best DJs around including The Nextmen, Midnight Juggernauts, The Glimmers, Stanton Warriors, Black Seeds and Damian Lazarus with more to come soon.

Last year's roadblockers Horse Meat Disco return for a two-day discothon in 1970s downtown Manhattan, in the stunning and expanded NYC Downlow Arena, where kings of the underground dance scene Secret Sundaze and Mulletover take a day's turn each in the open air Wild West Stockade. The solar powered Alfresco Stage is the eco-friendly platform to see the finest new talent including Youngblood Brass Band, Hayseed Dixie and Rachel Unthank. Also, expect performers from Europe's best performing arts festivals, street art exhibition, dedicated family area, the Sourced Farmer's Market, and a whole host of other fabulous food and drinks stalls.

Lovebox London Weekender takes place in Victoria Park, Hackney in East London on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th July. Gates open at 12 noon and close at 10.30pm with after-parties happening around London until the early hours.
