THIS FESTIVAL HAS BEEN AND GONE

What is it?

Camp Bestival 2011

Camp Bestival is the ‘little sister’ to Isle of Wight’s Bestival which is also curated by Radio 1 DJ Rob da Bank. What makes Camp Bestival different to its namesake is that it’s more family-orientated meaning music lovers with children can still go and sample the festival sensation without having to worry about a babysitter. Camp Bestival won the ‘Best New Festival’ award in its debut year in 2008 has steadily grown since its inception three years ago. There are Bluecoats on site who guide patrons around the site to help them choose between a great mix of music, comedy, spoke word and other forms of entertainment. At last years Camp Bestival, Madness, Calvin Harris and Billy Bragg were amongst the talent on show which won ‘Best Family Festival’ at the UK Festival Awards. The Camp Bestival 2011 line up will include Mark Ronson & The Business International and Blondie as headliners with Laura Marling also performing. Camp Bestival 2011 will, as ever, have a theme for folk to dress for the occasion – medieval.
