CARLING ZEST

Festival Internacional de Benicassim 2012

What is it?

Don’t be put off by the name or obscurity of this festival! ‘Benicassim’ or ‘FIB’ as it’s affectionately known, presents the perfect combination of a holiday and a music festival.

Set alongside a Spanish summer resort packed with artificial beaches, Benicassim seems almost like the ready-made place for music lovers holidaying with mates. Four days of some of the best music from the electro, pop, indie and rock scenes are held across the Main Stages and several smaller stages. Unlike most festivals, acts at Benicassim perform in the later hours and through the night rather than in the afternoon and evenings – headline acts hitting the stages at around 1am with the party lasting until 8am, perfect for the up all night/sleep all day crowd.

2011 brought the likes of The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, Arcade Fire, Elbow and more to the Spanish shores while this year will welcome the likes of The Stone Roses, New Order, Florence + the Machine, David Guetta and De La Soul.
