Neill Collins
Position: Defence
Height: 6'3
Weight: 12st 7lbs
Date of Birth: 1983-09-02 Irvine, Scotland

It didn't take long for Mick McCarthy to recruit versatile defender Collins from his former club Sunderland. Initially signed on loan in November 2006, the transfer was then made permanent during the January transfer window.
Starting his career at Queens Park and then Dumbarton, Collins was signed by McCarthy at Sunderland in August 2004 but found opportunities limited at the Stadium of Light. That saw the tenacious defender have loan stints at Hartlepool and Sheffield United during the 2005/06 season.
Since his Molineux switch, the Scottish defender has enjoyed much greater frequency of appearance and scored four vital goals in their 2008/09 promotion campaign. His versatility has seen him play at both right-back and in central defence.
