Wolves' promotion to the Premier League as champions in the 2008/09 season marked an incredible graduation for the Basildon-born winger since being released by Southend in 2005.

Moving on to Grays Athletic, the dynamic wide man caught the eye sufficiently to earn a loan move to Wolves, which was then turned into a permanent transfer for £20,000 in January 2007, despite reported interest from Manchester United.

Rapid and direct, Kightly is an eye catching player with good innovation and an eye for goal. His Molineux career kicked off with 9 goals in 26 games in the second half of the 2006/07 season before the following season was interrupted by a serious ankle injury.

He returned to hit eight goals and claim a plethora of assists, however, as Wolves returned to the top flight as champions in 2008/09.
