The young goalkeeper spent loan spells at both Accrington and Stockport before the 2008/09 season saw Ikeme play a more prominent role in first-team matters as he made 12 appearances in the absence of Wayne Hennessey through injury and suspension.

Indeed his presence may have been even more significant had he not suffered a hip injury, opening the door for the Welsh international's return.

He has been called up by Nigeria, but yet to be capped and signed a new four-year deal at Molineux in December 2008.
