Tomasz Cywka

Wigan signed Polish midfielder Tomasz Cywka on a three-year contract in July 2006.

The 18-year-old was offered the deal after impressing during a two-week trial at the JJB Stadium in March, but returned home to complete his education before putting pen to paper.

Latics boss Paul Jewell told the club's official website: "Until a player actually signs the deal, anything can happen. And I am delighted Tomasz is a Wigan player at last.

"He has a real chance to make it in the game. I think he has all the attributes to become a very good player - a great touch, vision and pace.

"Now he needs to adapt to the English game and make all that potential come good."

Cywka has made over 80 appearances for Poland's Under-18 and Under-19 teams and has already been capped at Under-21 level.

In October 2006, he joined Oldham Athletic on loan to get some first team experience, but has since struggled to break into the Wigan Athletic first team on a regular basis.
