Jonathan Spector

West Ham United completed a £500,000 deal to sign USA international defender Jonathan Spector from Manchester United in June 2006.

The 20-year-old, who missed out on a place in the USA's World Cup squad because of a shoulder injury, made eight first-team appearances for United after moving to Old Trafford from Chicago Sockers in 2003.

However, Spector has plenty of experience of Premiership football after playing 20 games during a year-long loan at Charlton Athletic last season.

When fit, he is a vital part of the USA set-up and proved to be a useful addition to the West Ham squad in the 2006/07 and 07/08 seasons.
