That came just five months after he made his West Ham debut, on New Year's Day 2008 against Arsenal, coming on as a first half substitute for Freddie Ljungberg. Collison's first goal for the Hammers came on November 8 2008 in a 3-1 loss to Everton at Upton Park.
A tall central midfielder, Collison has scored two goals in seven appearances for the Wales Under-21 side, including a stunning solo goal on his debut against Bosnia-Herzegovina. He signed a new five-year contract with West Ham in the summer.
