Tony Mowbray signed Czech defender Michal Danek on loan in January 2008.
A great talent from an early age, he played for youth clubs FC Hlucin and FC Banik Ostrava, before moving up to the latter's professional team in 2002.
After two fruitless years with Banik, he moved on to SK Kladno, FK Chmel Blsany and then FC Viktoria Plzen, before a successful trial period at the Hawthornes inspired Mowbray to sign him on loan.
At the end of January, the loan was extended until the end of the season, and at the end of the season it was extended again to January 2009.
He is a Czech international and Danek's experience could prove vital to West Brom's hopes of remaining a Premier League team at the end of the 2008/09 season.
