Chris Brunt

After having trials at Manchester United and Middlesbrough, Chris Brunt signed for the latter team in 2002.

However, his time at the Riverside was undistinguised as he struggled to break into the first team.

In 2004, he was loaned out to Sheffield Wednesday and his impressive performances earned his a permanent switch to Hillsborough later that year.

Between 2004 and 2007, Brunt played 134 games and scored 21 goals, and his form inspired a call-up to the Northern Ireland squad.

In July 2007, contract negotations between Brunt and Wednesday broke down and in August he signed for West Brom for £3million.

He has continued to play an important part in the Northern Ireland international set-up and will be looking to make his mark on the Premier League in 2008/09.
