Carl Hoefkens

Carl Hoefkens is one of West Brom's most experienced players, who will be looking to make his mark on the Premier League in 2008/09.

He began his career with a six-year stay at Belgian club Lierse, before joining Lommel for two years in 2001.

In 2003, he joined Germinal Beerschot and his impressive form in Belgium attracted the interest of Stoke City, who he signed for in 2005.

Two years, 85 appearances and three goals followed at the Britannia Stadium but a reported £1million transfer fee took him to West Brom in 2007.

He has flourished at the Hawthornes and will be a crucial player for West Brom this season.
