AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has said that it is very likely that out-of-favour Chelsea striker Andriy Shevchencko will be returning to the San Siro in the summer. Berlusconi, godfather to the Ukrainian's first son would love to see the former player return to Italy and rekindle the form that attracted the London club to splash out in a record 30m signing two years ago. "I want to bring him back to Milan and it is very likely I'll achieve it," he said. "It would be great for us if he came back." Shevchenko has never really settled to life in the Barclays Premier League and the move could benefit all three parties as Milan look to rebuild after a disappointing domestic season and an early exit in the Champions League. The Ukrainian striker has just scored four league goals this season.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Dimitar Berbatov has admitted a summer switch to AC Milan would be ideal for him. The Bulgaria international has confirmed that the Rossoneri have made enquiries about bringing him to the San Siro and he is flattered by their interest. Berbatov's future at White Hart Lane has been the subject of intense speculation for almost 12 months and Manchester United were reportedly keen to sign him. "All I can say is that there was an interest from the Italian club, that is all I can say," said the 27-year-old. "If it produces negotiations I will be flattered. I know that Sir Alex (Ferguson) has wanted me for a quite a while, but at the moment I am a player of Tottenham." Berbatov has scored 45 times in 97 appearances since joining Spurs from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2006.

KAMENI LINKED WITH SPURS AND UNITED

Espanyol goalkeeper Carlos Kameni could be heading to Tottenham Hotspur in the summer, according to one of the Cameroon international's agents. Patrick Mboma insists the 23-year-old will quit the La Liga club at the end of this season, with White Hart Lane or Manchester United his possible destination. "The situation is complicated for him to remain at Espanyol," Mboma said in interviews to both Cadena Ser and Onda Cero. "Carlos by merit should get more money in any deal, but that is not the main issue. Now the player is interested in going to another club, and there are four clubs interested - Atletico Madrid, Valencia, Tottenham and Manchester United. In this moment we want a serious club with a big sporting plan." Meanwhile, Espanyol coach Ernesto Valverde is worried that a club will meet Kameni's get-out clause - which is currently believed to be 4.8 million. He said: "An effort has to be made to keep Kameni because he is very important. I speak about his situation as my fear is that a club will pay his clause."

SPURS LINKED WITH MODRIC TOO

Tottenham Hotspur have held discussions with Dynamo Zagreb about the possibility of signing Luka Modric according to reports. Modric has been at the centre of Premier League interest in the past spurring Zagreb's president Zdravko Mamic to place an 18m price tag on the 22-year-old play-maker. The Croatian international played a key part in his country's 3-2 victory over England last November. He can also play on the left hand side, but is just as comfortable slotting in behind the strikers. Tottenham boss Juande Ramos is said to be looking to bring in a number of players in the summer and has a new goalkeeper, two defenders, a midfielder and a striker on his wish-list.

Rangers' frontline is set to look the same next season as Kris Boyd and Jean-Claude Darcheville have pledged their future at Ibrox. Kris Boyd, who has 21 goals for the Gers' in all competitions this season, has said that he has no intention of leaving the club. Despite not pinning down a regular first team position, Boyd remains happy at the club. He said: "It's not dented my confidence. It's just up to me to get on the park and show what I can do. Knocking on the manager's door is not going to help me. He has not turned round and told me that he doesn't want me at the club, so until that day comes I'm happy and I think Rangers will be happy as well." Meanwhile Frenchman Darcheville remains hopeful that he can seal a new contract at the club, despite interest in England and in Spain.

PRESTON DENY RIORDAN LINK

English clubs Burnley and Preston North End have both been linked with a move for Celtic striker Derek Riordan, who has been holding talks with Gordon Strachan this week over his lack of opportunites at Celtic Park this season. However, Preston manager Alan Irvine has insisted that there is no truth in the link with his club: "I have no idea where that story has come from because it isn't true," Irvine said. "It said in one paper I was putting a package together for Riordan. I know absolutely nothing about that. It amazes me that this sort of stuff can be written when there is no truth in it."
