Blackburn could lose Hoilett on the cheap

08th February 2012

Blackburn could lose Junior Hoilett for just £675,000 to Bayern Munich in the summer.

The 21-year-old is set to leave when his contract expires at the end of the season.

Rovers would hope to pick up between £4million-6million in compensation if he moved to another Premier League side, because he is under 23.

However, they would be entitled to much less if Hoilett is picked up by Bayern as different compensation rules apply for players moving abroad.

Spanish radio station Cadena Ser is reporting that Manchester City are emerging as the strong favourites to sign him.
Roberto Mancini is keen to sign another central defender and provide more competition for Vincent Kompany and Joleon Lescott.
