Andre-Pierre Gignac claims he turned down a move to Everton during the transfer window, and insists he would only consider leaving Marseille for a club like Manchester United.
The French striker, who has previously been linked to Fulham and Newcastle, faced an uncertain future throughout January with l’OM after failing out of favour with boss Didier Deschamps.
However, despite reports in France that Marseille offered Gignac the chance to sign for the Toffees, the 26-year-old insists he would prefer to wait for a title-challenging outfit to come calling, rather than move to Goodison Park.
‘Everton is a top club in England but for me Marseille is bigger and more attractive,’ Gignac told skysports.com.
