Joe Allen has emerged as a surprise transfer target for Spurs, after enjoying an impressive first half of the season for Swansea City.
The 21-year-old midfielder has been one of the standout performers for the newly-promoted team, who have won praise for their stylish football.
His form has caught the eye of Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp, who is now considering making a bid, reports the People.
The Wales international is the kind of clever midfield player Redknapp likes and he would add a further creative option to Spurs’ title-chasing squad.
Swansea manager Brendan Rodgers would not want to lose Allen at this stage of the season and would demand a fee in excess of £10million for a player who is under contract until 2015.

Nedum Onuoha’s £3million transfer from Manchester City to QPR is in doubt after Everton expressed an interest in the defender.
Hoops boss Mark Hughes said at the weekend he expected to make at least one new signing on Monday and it was thought the Onuoha deal was the closest to completion.
However, the 25-year-old, who is not part of Roberto Mancini’s plans at the Etihad Stadium, has now been given another option.
Everton boss David Moyes has registered his interest and a move to Goodison Park is likely to prove attractive to the player, reports the People.
