Liverpool are rumoured to be lining up a January move for Blackpool star Charlie Adam. Roy Hodgson has reportedly been scouting the former Rangers man this season and after the 24 year old put in a great performance to help his side to a famous win at Anfield the chances of a bid from the Merseyside club have significantly increased. The attacking midfielder has also apparently fallen out with his Bloomfield Road club over unpaid bonuses which could give the talented Scot the excuse he needs to leave the club he helped to a surprise promotion to the Premier League last season.

Sunderland have put a £20 million asking price on Jordan Henderson as Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City prepare to battle for his signature. Midfielder Henderson has been in great form for Sunderland and is on the verge of a full England call-up after impressing for the Under-21s. England manager Fabio Capello is sending right-hand man Franco Baldini to check on Henderson, 20, in Sunderland’s trip to Newcastle on Sunday, with a view to selecting him for the friendly against France on November 17. Henderson is not pushing to leave the Stadium of Light but the club are bracing themselves for some big bids in the January transfer window.

Sir Alex Ferguson is reportedly considering an audacious double swoop to bring Napoli attacking pair Marek Hamsik and Edinson Cavani to Old Trafford. The Manchester United boss has been promised significant funds to improve his squad and he has earmarked a move for the Serie A duo. Napoli have experienced something of a rejuvenation over the past 18 months and that has had a lot to do with the impressive performances from Slovakian international Hamsik who has become something of a cult hero at Stadio San Paolo but has been consistently linked with a move to one of Europe’s elite and if his Naples club fails to seal a Champions League finish this term the chances of an exit for the 23 year old attacking midfield.

Chelsea have registered interest in signing Bayern Munich winger Bastian Schweinsteiger on a pre-contract in January. The Germany World Cup winger’s contract expires next summer and his club have failed to agree a new one. It means the 26-year-old, who has been at Bayern since he was a teenager, is able to sign a pre-contract with another club at the turn of the year.

Ryan Giggs is to be offered £200,000 a week to finish his career in the Middle East. And fellow Manchester United veterans Paul Scholes and Gary Neville can also expect mega deals from Dubai clubs. Top oufits in the UAE League, including David O’Leary’s Al Ahli, have already discussed signing the trio next summer. A United insider said: “Ryan is a legend at United and still an important part of the team but like Scholesy and Gary Neville, he can’t go on for ever. “He has always rejected moves but this is a very attractive way for him to end his career, a last big pay day in the sun.

Blackburn Rovers want to sign Birmingham City’s Swedish winger Sebastian Larsson and Manchester City wonder boy John Guidetti in the first swoop with their new cash. Rovers will be handed a £10 million transfer kitty injection once the VH Group, the Indian owners-in-waiting, get the go-ahead to take over at Ewood Park. And the lowly outfit will have a strong chance of landing the pair, who are both on the books of Kentaro – the football agency who are close partners of VH in the Rovers project.

Blackpool boss Ian Holloway is trying to launch a cut-price £500,000 January move for Barnsley forward Adam Hammill. Former Liverpool trainee Hammill, 22, is attracting interest from Wigan, Bolton, Newcastle and West Brom after impressing as one of the in-form players in the Championship this season. Hammill represents a bargain in January as he has a £500,000 buy-out clause in his contract and the Premier League clubs are circling.

Juventus have emerged as the surprise candidates to end Robbie Keane’s Tottenham misery. The Italian club is expected to bid for the Irish striker, 30, once the January transfer window opens. Keane has already played a season in Serie A with Inter Milan back in 2000. But he has started just one Premier League game this season and will be keen on a move to resurrect his career.

QPR manager Neil Warnock is weighing up a January move for teenage Swindon defender Sean Morrison. Warnock has joined north east rivals Newcastle and Sunderland in the battle to sign highly-rated centre back Morrison, 19, who joined Swindon from Plymouth in 2007 and has played 42 league games.

Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti is considering a cut-price move for Croatian captain Darijo Srna in January. Shakhtar Donetsk full back Srna, 28, is running down his contract and may be ready to quit Ukraine, although they are trying to persuade him to stay. Chelsea have been watching developments since the spring and would be interested in a cut-price deal if Shakhtar decide to cut their losses rather than risk losing him on a free.
