Liverpool are considering a move for Manchester City pair Wayne Bridge and Roque Santa Cruz. Roy Hodgson is willing to re-invest any potential incoming funds from the sale of Javier Mascherano and Emiliano Insua to bring in the City pair who do not appear to have a first team future at Eastlands. Roberto Mancini is looking to trim his squad ahead of naming his 25 man Premier League squad and is looking to release some more of his ever expanding squad on loan but is willing to listen to decent offers for some of his players, including the England full back Bridge who has now fallen down the pecking order at the club.

Manchester United are considering a move for highly rated Mexican international Andres Guardado as Sir Alex Ferguson looks to bring in more creativity to his Old Trafford midfield. The Deportivo La Coruna winger had a good World Cup and has apparently been highlighted as a potential addition to the squad by the club’s scouting network who have been monitoring the youngster for a while now. The playmaker had been linked with a move to the Premier League side back in 2007 before he made the move from Atlas to La Liga but could now be back on the United radar, not least because of the way in which he links up with his international teammate Javier Hernandez.

Indian tycoon Ahsan Ali Syed wants to bring David Beckham to Blackburn when he buys the club. The Bahrain-based millionaire is a huge Beckham fan and will promise the former England skipper a massive pay day to end his career at Ewood Park. He said: ‘I was 26 when I started following the Premier League. I used to like Blackburn back then and also used to follow Manchester United’s fortunes because of David Beckham. ‘If my finances allow and his intentions are positive then I would love to take Beckham.’ Ali Syed is currently going through Blackburn’s books and hopes to seal his £300m takeover within a month.
