Notts County have handed a trial to free agent Jorge Andrade as they look to replace Sol Campbell. The former Porto, Deportivo la Coruna and Juventus defender, 31, has spent two weeks training with the League Two club. Andrade, an ex-Portugal centre back, has suffered a series of serious knee injuries but believes he can still play at the top level.

Hertha Berlin are trying to sign Sol Campbell on an 18-month contract. The former Notts County defender has held talks with FIFA and PFA representatives in his bid to be free to play again after walking out on the League Two club. Despite his actions breaking transfer rules he hopes a tribunal can begin next week and award him special dispensation. He believes he can argue he was misled by County. Campbell, 35, has offers from English clubs but not as lucrative as that from the Bundesliga side.
