Carlos Tevez agreed to join Manchester City TWO WEEKS ago - and will complete the £47.5 million transfer in the next few days. Tevez decided to quit Manchester United long before the end of the season because he felt Sir Alex Ferguson did not fancy him enough to be a 'first pick' and his handlers sorted out terms with their rivals. City agreed to pay the £25.5 million asking price of his 'owners' and will also hand the Argentinian forward around £100,000-a-week for the next five seasons in a staggering pay day. Tevez's agents have admitted privately that the City move was thrashed out in top-level meetings in the Middle East and in Manchester well in advance of United's final attempt to keep him. United came up with the asking price and made a contract offer, but the Tevez camp did not even ask for more cash as they had already made up their minds to go.

Fulham have been linked with former Spain international Fernando Morientes. Roy Hodgson's side are preparing for a Europa League campaign and the former Real Madrid and Liverpool forward could help the squad with his experience of European competition. Morientes, 33, is unattached after scoring just five goals in 16 games for Valencia last season.

Hull boss Phil Brown has confirmed he is interested in bringing Michael Owen to the KC Stadium. The former England striker is out of contract at Newcastle at the end of the month and is looking for a move back to the Premier League. The Tigers want to strengthen their attacking options after only beating the drop by a single point last season. Brown said in the Hull Daily Mail: "It's something that has been sounded out as a possibility, but, as yet, there has been no offer put to Michael. He has got a proven track record as a goalscorer and that's an area we are keen to strengthen, but it would have to be on the right terms."

Bolton have no intention of cashing in on captain Kevin Davies and will robustly reject any bids for the striker. Last season the 32-year-old enjoyed his best Barclays Premier League campaign, scoring 12 goals, and former Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce is reported to be ready to make a £5million bid to take him back to Blackburn. Allardyce originally brought Davies to the Reebok from Southampton in 2003 and was credited with resurrecting his stuttering career.

Scotland midfielder Paul Hartley is wanted by Greek club Iraklis Saloniki. The 32-year-old's contract with Celtic is about to expire and several clubs, including previous employers Hearts, have expressed an interest. Iraklis, who were 10th of the 16 teams in the Greek top flight last season, have invited Hartley to look round and he could visit the club this week. However, Hartley has other options and could be hoping to be offered a deal by new Celtic manager Tony Mowbray.
