FOOTBALL TRANSFER NEWS

City Look To Splash Cash On Fab

Fabio Cannavaro is being linked with a move to Manchester City after rumours circulated of his desire to quit Real Madrid. The veteran defender is reported to have been targeted by City as they attempt to shore up their defence for next season. Boss Mark Hughes is considering bringing in an experienced international to play alongside the likes of Micah Richards. Cannavaro is now 35 but believes he still has at least two more seasons at the top of the game, and he is believed to be open to a swansong in the Premier League.

Boro's German Stopper Homeward Bound?

Wolfsburg are said to be keeping tabs on Middlesbrough defender Robert Huth as a replacement for Ricardo Costa and Alexander Madlung. Madlung is expected to leave on a Bosman at the end of the season, while Costa is said to be unhappy with a lack of first team opportunities in recent weeks. The former Chelsea man's future may depend on whether Boro survive the drop come the end of the season but it is thought that the North East club would demand a fee of around £6.5million.

Swans Keen On Spanish Hitman

Swansea are reported to have joined a host of clubs tracking Spanish forward Nestor Susaeta. The 24-year-old is currently on the books of AD Alcorcon in the second tier of the Segunda Division. He has caught the eye this season with 12 goals and is regarded as a hot prospect by his current employers.

Hoops Chase Midfield Iceman

Icelandic starlet Aron Gunnarsson has revealed that Celtic are continuing to track him. The 19-year-old has made a huge impact with Coventry this season after switching from AZ Alkmaar last summer. A host of clubs are understood to be checking on him and Celtic are believed to have been keeping tabs on him for a number of months.

Carlos Tevez would be better off going south and away from Manchester, Manchester City may think that they are the Bees Knees but what Hughes does not realise is he failed last year and others will not allow him to get into the Top Four. He may have been a good player but he ratted on Blackburn Rovers who took him and made him a Manager. That is the kind of Manager he is, rather gives the impression of being a two faced character.

As an Arsenal fan of over 45 years would someone please.please ,please buy our Mr Offside-Adebayor.If he has scored only a small percentage of the moves were he was caught offside, not only would the Gooners have won the Premiership and Champins League, but Adebayor would have won the Golden Boot!Come on Arsene-BUy us a BIg hard centre half(like Tony Adams)and another Arshavin and we'll be hard to catch.A Gooner for ever!

As far as I am concerened, Rangers should provide the fans with some absolute quality next season in terms of signings. Champions League football is guaranteed, so it's not like we have to hold out for the funds coming in. Come on The Gers! We were simply the best in supporting you through and through the hard times over the last few seasons. Give Mendes, Thomson, Davis, Bougherra, Boyd and the rest of the double winning lads something special to work alongside. A true blue, Rangers until I die, Chris!

If the spine of our team remains intact after the summer transfer furore I am highly confident of securing the premier league title next season. By spine I mean Gerard (who obviously along with Torres is going nowhere) Carragher, Torres, Alonso and Reina. Even if Ferguson offered Rafa the full £80 million from the sale of Ronaldo for Torres i'm quite sure you could hear Rafa and Torres' laughter from Melwood to South Africa where i see "El Nino" is putting in another below par performance with a hat- trick after 17 minutes! Ha !

He is the brightest young player we have had in a long time and he should stay put and learn his trade at Rangers

we have at least £10m from the Champions League - still sell players but only fringe ones.Even the wages we would save by getting rid of those players would allow the manager to bring in a couple of players of quality. And that would be enough for me cause I think that he should be playing players like Danny Wilson(cause Davie Weir hasn't got the legs for another season -especially in Europe where his lack of pace would get hopelessly exposed),John Fleck,Dean Furman,Andrew Little a lot more next season. In fact my team would be : Alan McGregor Steven Whittiker Madjid Bougherra Danny Wilson Steven Smith Kevin Thomson Steven Davies Pedro Mendes Andrius Velicka / Stevie Naismith Kris Boyd Kenny Miller I think that with those players you can play with only a three man midfield, as both fullbacks will bomb forward all day long, and if they happened to get caught on the counter attack while too far forward you've got Thomson there to protect the 2 centre halfs. And of course in certain games you could play John Fleck in what is more of his natural position just behind a front two of Boyd & Miller / Velicka.you got the snipers saying that he wasn't the player he had been made out to be. But of course us Gers supporters know that is because he was at left midfield. Yet we're the same ones who know what a revelation he would be in the position he has played in since he signed as a 12 year old. And by the way Scott, we all knew that you were in fact a Septic fan because we all know at least one of the "unwashed ones" that are like you to a tee with your snidey wee comments that only you find funny. Ha Ha - 4 in a row no more!!!!! How does it feel ? Huv you came out of hiding yet ?

A good skillful striker to go up front with mcdonald is just what Celtic need, if we had had 1 this season to go with him we would still be celebrating 4 in a row :)

This guy is the future of Rangers and shouldnt be allowed to leave. Whats the point of the Auchenhowie complex. I thought it was to bring on new talent to play for the Gers in the future and not to be a nursery for other so called Bigger clubs.

He's rubbish. He is never a premiership player. Not worth £15 never mind 15 mill.

John Fleck is a young talent, Rangers are doing the right thing by not rushing him. We need to watch him grow and be hot headed by his inexsperince. He is a key to rangers progress and a bright future

How about david villa for liverpool

Rangers should not allow the transfer, as players such as Fleck are the future of Rangers and should not be brought on at Murray park and sold off.

janko could do a good job at celtic .kranjcar might be the man to fill the big gap neil lennon has left .celtic need a new lennon/lubo type play maker urgently , then we will see more goals for the hoops

I cant beleive that Rangers have nursed Steven Smith thro a horific injury for the best part of 2 years only to try and get rid of one of the best prospects in Scottish football a product of the youth programme. where is the point in having a youth programme to bolster other team Chris Burke a shining example to name the most recent departure ???

I hope Rickie stay's with the Rovers although his goals have dried up the last month, he has scored some cracking goals in his time here, may it continue.

I think Kris Boyd should stay at rangers because thats where his heart is and rangers should pay him more money to stay. He is an out to out goal scorer and he does have another two may be more years in him. He is another Ally Mc coist.. i think keep him.

Rickie Lambert? Ok in the lower leagues, different world in the premier or even the championship, maybe a move to another div 1 club would be ok for him!

Walter Smith can't play Charlie (Beckham) Adams as he is unfit would not last the pace and should be the first out the door in January. Gers need a centre half, leftback and a good hard midfielder as Thommo has left a big hole since his injury.

Would expect around 6.5 - 7 million to part with Bougherra.Hopefully the board will resist because most fans rate him higher than Carlos Cuellar who went for 8.5million but we are in a habit of selling centre halves at the moment so i'm not too hopeful
Keni
Buckley
If Smith does go to Ipswich Town or any other club then I hope it's only on a loan deal because when we cash in on Bougherra the left back position may come up for grabs.
