Tottenham Hotspur announced the signing of ex-Auxerre defender Younes Kaboul in July 2007.

The 21-year-old stopper had been on Tottenham's wish-list since the end of the 2006/07 season and has finally put pen to paper at White Hart Lane.

His first campaign at the club was a mixed one, however, and that summer he joined Portsmouth for an undisclosed fee. He played 17 games in his first season at Fratton Park, scoring once in the league: in an April match against West Brom.
