Russell Anderson

Russell Anderson began his career in Scotland with Aberdeen, his local club, playing for the Dons for over a decade and making over 300 appearances as well as captaining them. He has also won several caps for Scotland, making his debut against Iceland in 2002.

After skippering the Dons to European qualification in 2006/07, Anderson left the club in June 2007 to join Barclays Premier League new-boys Sunderland for £1m.
