Sunderland wrapped up the signing of Paris St Germain defender Jean-Yves Mvoto in January 2008.

The centre-half joined the Black Cats on a three-and-a-half-year contract, after the two clubs agreed an undisclosed compensation package.

Black Cats boss Roy Keane told the club's official website: "Jean is one for the future. We've seen a lot of him and he's a strong centre-back who will be a good addition to our squad."

Mvoto had been offered terms for his first professional contract with PSG, but opted to head to England instead.
