Danny Collins started out as a midfielder at Chester City, but was successfully converted into a centre-half by Mark Wright and was key to his local club's Conference title in 2004.
In August of that year, he was snapped up by Sunderland and made six starts for them in the Championship.
He played a big part in both their recent promotions to the Premier League and continued this form with a solid performance in 2007/08.
